Snow in the Lowcountry

Snow in the Lowcountry!

The zoo fared well throughout the snowstorm, but due to being heavily shaded, the Animal Forest trails remained icy and unsafe for visitors, forcing the zoo to remain closed for nearly one week after the initial snowfall. The river otters seemed oblivious to the cold temperatures as they frolicked in the snow, while the bears stayed cuddled in their dens until the weather warmed up. The Animal Forest looked beautiful blanketed in snow, but the zookeepers are happy to see it gone so we can go back to business as usual!
