Lowcountry residents young and old have been enjoying Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site since it opened to the public in 1970. From the beautiful landscapes and marsh views to archaeological digs, the Animal Forest, fireable cannons, and the Adventure replica ship, the park is filled with attractions for the whole family. As the first English settlement in South Carolina, Charles Towne Landing introduces visitors to the state’s earliest colonial history.
As the Friends of this historic part of our community, we come alongside the State Parks staff to sponsor events, beautify the landscape, raise material support, and donate our time to make Charles Towne Landing a great place for everyone in Charleston.
